The starting signal for our company was given by Anton Pletzer in 1966 with the foundation of the company "Stahlbau Hopfgarten" in the Tyrolean town of the same name. A production facility for heat exchangers was built as early as the 1980s. Starting with applications in the refrigeration industry, APL Apparatebau GmbH developed into a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers for energy, environmental, heating and refrigeration technology, the chemical and petrochemical industry, and the oil and gas industry.

APL Apparatebau GmbH was founded in 2000 through the takeover of Hans Güntner GmbH in Dormagen. The merger of the two established companies in Hopfgarten and Dormagen has created great advantages in terms of joint sales and engineering activities, as well as an expanded product range and flexible manufacturing capacities for our customers.

Through targeted strategic acquisitions and sales partnerships in the D-A-CH region, APL Apparatebau GmbH has developed into a stable group of companies consisting of 2 production sites (AT + DE) and 3 sales subsidiaries (AT, DE and CH).

APL Group is part of the family-run Pletzer Group (www.pletzer-gruppe.at), which invests in and operates sustainable businesses in the Alpine region.
